INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION on the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, and Empowerment.”

The Bible Society of India (BSI) joyfully celebrated International Women’s Day on March 7, 2025, at its Central Office in Bangalore and across all 17 Auxiliaries in India under the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment.” We are thankful to the DImapur Auxiliary for the wonderful Order of Worship prepared by them .

The event highlighted the significant role of women in society and the Church, emphasizing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. The celebrations included scripture readings, inspiring talks, and prayers for the well-being of women worldwide. The celebration reaffirmed BSI’s dedication to uplifting women and girls, aligning with its mission to serve communities through God’s Word. The Morning Prayer ignited a renewed commitment to advocating for women’s rights, equality, and empowerment in both the spiritual and social spheres.

Annual Bible Conventions

Over the past two months, the Bible Society of India actively participated in various Annual Bible Conventions of different church denominations. The Auxiliary Secretary shared from the Word of God and provided updates on BSI’s ministries.

 

101st IPC General Convention, 12th to 19th Jan. 2025:

The 101st General Convention of the India Pentecostal Church of God was held at Kumbanadu on January 15, 2025. The Auxiliary Secretary attended the event, which was supported by Pr. Dr. Valson T. Abraham (President, IPC), Pr. Dr. Philip P. Thomas (Vice President), Mrs. Starla Luke (Former Auxiliary Committee Member), Pr. Dr. John K. Mathew (Auxiliary Committee Member & Former BSI Vice President), and other officials. BSI acknowledges the wholehearted support of IPC pastors and congregation members in spreading the Word of God worldwide.

64th Annual General Convention of St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India, 19th to 26th Jan. 2025:

Under the leadership of Presiding Bishop & former Auxiliary Committee member, Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Abraham, and Auxiliary Committee representative, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Chacko, the Auxiliary Secretary attended the 7th-day evening session of the STECI Annual Convention at Bishop Abraham Nagar, Manjadi, Thiruvalla. During the convention, the Presiding Bishop handed over the Bible Sunday donation collected from all their churches. BSI expresses deep gratitude to the Office Bearers and Church members for their prayers and cooperation in spreading the Word of God.

59th Session of CSI Madhya Kerala Diocesan Convention, 26th Jan. to 2nd Feb. 2025:

The event was held at Baker Compound, Kottayam. The Auxiliary Secretary attended the event, which was greatly supported by Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, Diocesan Office Bearers, clergy, church workers, and members. The convention was further blessed by the presence of former Auxiliary Vice President, Rt. Rev. Dr. Oommen George, and former Auxiliary Secretary, Rev. Dr. Mathew Varkey. BSI extends its sincere gratitude to all for their continued support.

Assemblies of God Malayalam District Council General Convention, 27th Jan. to 2nd Feb. 2025 at AG Convention Ground, Paranthal, Adoor:  

On January 31, 2025, the Auxiliary Secretary attended the gathering.BSI extends gratitude to Rev. T. J. Samuel (Superintendent), Rev. Dr. Issac V. Mathew (Assistant Superintendent & former Auxiliary Committee member), Dr. Santhosh John (Auxiliary Committee member), and other officials for their support. During the meeting, the Superintendent handed over the Bible Sunday donation from the Church.We deeply appreciate the Zonal Directors, Presbyters, Pastors, and church members for their unwavering love and support for the Bible Cause.

CSI East Kerala 42nd Diocesan Convention, 2nd to 9th Feb. 2025:

The 42nd Diocesan Convention of CSI East Kerala was held from February 2–9, 2025, under the leadership of Diocesan Bishop & Auxiliary Vice President, Rt. Rev. V. S. Francis. On the 6th day, the Auxiliary Secretary, Auxiliary Treasurer, Dr. Sabu T. Thomas, and Auxiliary Committee member, Adv. P. V. Cherian attended the evening session at MDCMS HS Ground, Chalamattom. The event saw the commendable participation of clergy, evangelists, church workers, missionaries, and church members. The Bible Society of India expresses gratitude to the Church Office bearers and members for their prayerful support of its ministry.

At the 130th Maramon Convention (Feb 9–16, 2025), organized by the Malankara Mar Thoma Church, the Supreme Head & Auxiliary President, Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan, inaugurated the event. He also visited and blessed the BSI Bible stall, where many Bishops, clergy, leaders, and believers engaged with BSI’s mission. The convention witnessed strong support, with significant Bible sales at Maramon sands. BSI expresses gratitude for the continued partnership and support of the Malankara Mar Thoma Church in spreading God’s Word.

CSI Kollam-Kottarakkara Diocesan Convention, 20th to 23rd Feb. 2025:

The Auxiliary Secretary attended the second-day evening session of the CSI Kollam Kottarakara Diocesan Convention at Kollam Convention Center. BSI expresses deep gratitude to Rt. Rev. V.S. Francis (Vice President, Kerala Auxiliary & Bishop in charge), Rt. Rev. Dr. Oommen George (Former Auxiliary Vice President), Office Bearers, Clergy, Church Workers, and the entire congregation for their great support.

Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Mavelikara Diocesan Convention:

On February 20, 2025, the Auxiliary Secretary attended the 27th Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Mavelikara Diocesan Convention inaugural day alongside Mr. Saji Varghese (Regional Coordinator) and Mr. J. Jacob (Mavelikara Branch Secretary). BSI extends heartfelt gratitude to Bishop H.G. Dr. Abraham Mar Ephiphanious Metropolitan, Rev. Fr. Jones Eapen (Diocesan Secretary), Cor Episcopas, Clergy, and all Church members for their great support and encouragement.

BOMBAY AUXILIARY: Various Activities report:

On January 11, 2025, Mr. Paul Stephen, Marketing Director of BSI, visited the BSI Bombay Auxiliary Office, where he encouraged and guided the staff on Bible distribution and sales strategies.

On February 3, 2025, Rev. Clement Christian, Auxiliary Secretary of BSI Bombay Auxiliary, met with Dr. H. G. Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, Metropolitan of the Syrian Orthodox Church.

On February 9, 2025, Rev. Clement Christian, along with staff members, visited Ashish Prarthana Ghar in Vasai Naigaon, a longstanding supporter of BSI Bombay Auxiliary.

On February 21, 2025, the BSI Formation Day was celebrated with staff members at the BSI Bombay Auxiliary Office.

On February 22, 2025, Rev. Clement Christian was invited to a meeting with General Lyndon Buckingham, the General of the Salvation Army.

On March 6, 2025, an Inspirational Leadership Seminar was organized in Mumbai for Christian professionals, in collaboration with Campus Crusade for Christ and Global Leadership

On March 22 & 23, 2025, the Bible exhibition cum sale and Bible Sunday in Panjim Methodist Church Goa.

The Bombay Auxiliary Secretary, along with staff members Mr. Vipul Bhingardive and Mr. Rocky Pattath organized a Bible exhibition cum sale at Panjim Methodist Church from March 22–23, 2025. On March 23, the Auxiliary Secretary preached the Word of God during the Sunday service, we are thankful to Rev. David Livingstone and the Pastorate Committee for their support to the BSI ministry. The Bombay Auxiliary is planning a larger Bible exhibition in Goa to meet the scriptural needs of different congregations in the region.
