Ministry Among People With Visual Disability

The Scriptures bring hope, comfort and joy and ‘the light’ in their otherwise dark world. The Special Audience Department of the Bible Society of India has been involved in producing in appropriate formats, a wide range of Scriptures and aids for the blind for the last twenty two years.

The Mission Agencies working among this audience look up to the Bible Society for this valuable support and contribution. The Department continuously does research and brings out new Scriptures to meet the ‘felt needs’ of the vision impaired.

We have the full Braille Bibles (each Bible comes in 43 volumes) in almost all the major Indian languages. A wide range of other Scriptures in Braille have also been published.

Digital Audio Bibles are also made available to those who cannot read Braille.

Many lives have been changed through the Scripture distribution and they have now found a new hope in their lives. For more info

Ministry to the Sick

There are about thirty Christian hospitals in South India. People who visit these hospitals are looking for hope, comfort, real peace and true love which only the Scripture can offer. Copies of Scripture portions are made available to all who would like to have them. Many are also responding to the contact address given at the back of the Scriptures and write to us or the Chaplaincy Department of the concerned hospital asking for more information and Scriptures.

The specially developed Scriptures: ‘True Friend’, ‘Daddy, Where are you?’, Fear Not’, ‘Assurance of God’s Help’, ‘Meditation in Sick Bed’, ‘Answer to your problems’, ‘Life Forever’, etc., have been appreciated by people and have been translated into many languages.
