CROSS HAS BECOME THE CENTRAL SYMBOL OF CHRISTIANITY CROSS IS IT SACRAMENTAL OR ORNAMENTAL?

Cross has become the central symbol of Christianity.  Just imagine a visitor walking into one of our Churches for Sunday worship.  He is greeted by an usher with a pew slip which has a symbol of “Cross” as the theme. He sits on a pew and gazes at the altar closely; there he sees the symbol of cross on the stained glass.  A person with a cross on the lapel of his suit comes and sits next to him……

BSI AIZAWL AUXILIARY: BIBLE SUNDAY 2022

Bible Sunday was observed on December 4, 2022 in different churches all over the state of Mizoram Mizoram with two selected themes. Rev. Remlalfaka, Auxiliary Secretary attended the forenoon service at BCM Bethlehem Vengthlang Church, and the afternoon and night service at PCI Durtlang Church as a speaker……

BSI ANDHRA PRADESH AUXILIARY

The Rev. P.N.S. Chandra Bose Memorial Hall was dedicated by Dr. Mrs. Leelavathi Vemuri, BSI the then Acting President and our present President and Rev. Dr. M. Mani Chacko, BSI General Secretary on 10th December in Guntur. The Auxiliary Office Bearers, BSI Property Management Director, Auxiliary Committee Members, BSI Branch Officials and local church leaders and pastors were present in the program. 

THE UNFURLING OF THE NATIONAL FLAG ON THE REPUBLIC DAY JANUARY 26, 2023

The 74th Republic Day of our country was celebrated in our offices across the nation.  The staff of BSI actively participated in the flag hoisting event to show their respect for the constitution of our country and to intercede for the National and Regional leaders……

BSI CHURCH RELATIONS DAY – UNITY OCTAVE

The Bible Society of India celebrated the BSI Church Relations’ Day and Unity Octave virtually on January 30, 2023 across all our offices in India.  It was a time to come together irrespective of denominations and languages.  The theme for the day was “Do Good; Seek Justice” (Isaiah 1:17) Rev. Dr. Sr. Virginia Rajkumari, Secretary, Diocesan Bible Commission, Archdiocese of Bangalore was the guest speaker……

INSTALLATION OF REV. V.T.S. LANGSTIEH AS AUXILIARY SECRETARY,

BSI SHILLONG AUXILIARY

 

The Installation Service of Rev. V. T. S. Langstieh was held on the 4th January 2023. Rev. Dr. Mani Chacko, the General Secretary of Bible Society of India did the honours of installation……

 

BIBLE SOCIETY OF INDIA KERALA AUXILIARY FORMATION OF A NEW BRANCH

Tirur Branch in Malappuram Region formed as the 145th branch in Kerala Auxiliary at Tirur CSI church on 22nd January 2023 at 4pm. Rev T V Thomas, Regional President presided over the meeting; Auxiliary Secretary gave the inaugural address. Mr. K Franklin Regional Coordinator coordinated the meeting.

Committee was formed with members from various Churches.

President: Rev. Jayadas Mithran

Vice Presidents: Rev. C K Syne, Pastor Thampi, Mr Joseph Cherian and Mr. Philip

Secretary: Mr. Jayaprakash P.

Treasurer: Evg. K A Johnson

Joint Secretaries: Mr. Ruben and Mr. Anu Rejoy.

We greatly appreciate the hard work of Rev. Jayadas Mithran and others for the tireless efforts behind the formation of a new branch.

 

BSI CENTRAL COUNCIL

The Bible Society of India with God’s help successfully conducted its 28th Triennial Central Council on January 24 to 25, 2023 in Bangalore. The theme for the Central Council was “God’s Word for God’s World.”  There were distinguished Church leaders and council members representing seventeen Auxiliaries guests across India.  The Lord was absolutely faithful in leading the ministry of the BSI.  Kindly uphold the work of the BSI in your personal and family prayers.

As it is done in every BSI Triennial Central Council, this year too the Award of Excellence were given to our three Auxiliaries accordingly:

  1. Highest Contribution Award to Aizawl Auxiliary
  2. Highest Distribution Award to Tamil Nadu Auxiliary
  3. Overall Performance Award to Dimapur Auxiliary.

The Award of Appreciation were given to all the Fourteen Auxiliaries for their untiring and sacrificial works for the Bible cause. We praise and thanks our Almighty God for leading and guiding all our Auxiliaries to do their best for the past three years. Our heartfelt thanks goes to all the Churches, individuals and institutions for all your support and journeying with us all these years, especially in the years 2020 and 2021 amidst Covid19 pandemic challenges
