The Bible remains the best gift ever received by Christian faith-communities. That’s true of the Santali Christians as well.  The Santali Bible was translated about 100 years back by Norwegian Missionaries. Now, BSI is undertaking a revision of this Santali Bible

Rev. Dr. Jonadob Nathaniel ( Director – Translations) and Mr. Subramani ( Senior Translations Consultant) are travelling up to Pakur, Jharkand.

Both Rev. Jonadob and Subramani will be with a group of Santali translators as part of the consultation for the proposed revision.  “ I love to serve the people”, says Rev. Dr. Jonadob who has been involved in Bible Translations for over 25 years. BSI will also be equipping and resourcing the translators  with necessary tools to undertake the revision.

The revision will provide the Santalis with better readability  and a more accurate translation. We are overwhelmed by the opportunity of making available God’s Word to the Santalis.

Making available Braille Scriptures for the Blind

The Bible Society of India exists to make available God’s Word to all people in the price they can afford and in the format that they would be best served.
The Braille Scriptures are provided for by the Special Audience Department to the visually challenged free of cost. The Braille Bible is voluminous – a library of books comprising of 43 volumes in all. It costs a little over Rs 15000 for each set of Braille Scripture.
The BSI is thankful to Mr. G.K. Francis (Ex-MLA and Correspondent of St. Georges School) who has come forward to sponsor 100 Bibles for the visually challenged. Mr. G.K. Francis chanced upon an information brochure about the work of BSI Tamilnadu Auxiliary and was touched by the work of BSI in gifting the Braille Bibles to the visually challenged. He immediately promised Rev. Moses, Secretary, Tamilnadu Auxiliary support for 100 Braille Scriptures.
Now, one hundred more visually challenged people will have access to God’s Word.
We thank God for people who come forward to support this noble cause of gifting Bibles to the visually challenged, many of whom cannot afford to buy these Scriptures. If you too are interested to support the cause please contact bsisa@biblesociety.in
