For several years the Bible Society activities in Bihar were taken care of by the Calcutta Auxiliary. The Ranchi (Formerly Bihar) Auxiliary emerged with its own individual identity in 1966 with its headquarters at Ranchi. In 1993 the Auxiliary operations moved into the newly built "Bible House".

PROJECTS

Within the jurisdiction of this Auxiliary several Scriptures including the New Testaments in Mundari and Malto, revised Bible in Santhali and Bible in Kunrukh have been published. Malto NT is an outcome of partnership between the Friends Missionary Prayer Band and BSI. Simultaneously an audio cassette in Malto has been released.

WOMEN MINISTRY

The Women Ministry is known as Mahila Samiti of the Bible Society. This Samiti organizes chain prayer meetings and Christmas gatherings.

YOUTH MINISTRY

The Youth Ministry which started at Jamshedpur in December 1999 was named "Vision 2000 - Y". The work has expanded and it has branches in Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Kanki and Ranchi.

PROGRAMS

The Auxiliary has been active disseminating knowledge of God's Word through publication in newspaper and during special community and festival events. This Auxiliary has also been catering to the Scripture needs of the visually handicapped by distributing Braille Scriptures.
