Records as to the exact date of the beginnings of this Auxiliary are not extant. Evidence points to the existence of the Branch Bible Society of Bellary and Bangalore Bible Society around the period 1820 - 1829. However, in 1840 the activities relating to the Bible were placed as a part of the Madras Auxiliary operations. The Kannada Bible in a single volume was published in 1860. The Karnataka Auxiliary of the Bible Society of India came into existence in 1945. |
