HISTORY

 

The Bombay Auxiliary came into being in the year 1813, two years after the formation of Calcutta Auxiliary. Marathi language has seen several versions of Scriptures produced since the days of William Carey of Serampore. Pandita Rama Bhai, a dedicated and learned woman translated and published the New Testament and the Old Testament in the Common Language in the years 1912 and 1924 respectively. This Auxiliary caters to the Bible needs of the states of Maharashtra and Goa.

PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS:

The Marathi Thumb Index Bible(Red letter edition) has already been published. The work on Revised Marathi Bible(OV) edition is progressing. The Auxiliary has produced Audio Scriptures, some of them are -
Sorvesporak Jai (Konkani)
Ashecha Kiran (Marathi)
Janma Jagacha (Marathi)
Stuti Sumane (Marathi)
